Introduction to Dragon Boat day:

What is Dragon Boat?

The Dragon Boat is a type of canoeing characterized by the head and tail of a dragon, in which 10 paddlers row simultaneously to the rhythm of one more person who plays the drum. This crew will be under the orders of the skipper, the person in charge of the boat, who will be in charge of the organization of the activity.
Only teamwork will make it possible to move the boat forward. Once the basic technique is learned, different activities will be carried out between all the participating boats.
Tradition describes the origin of the courses in two different ways:
The most pragmatic explains that Dragon Boat courses are related to solar worship and the moon cycle.
The other, legend has it that the politician and poet Qu Yuan committed suicide by drowning in the waters of the Milou River to protest against the country's political corruption. The inhabitants of the area went to the river with their boats to find the body of Qu Yuan to honor his memory, and every year they did the Dragon Boat races.
